Chow:Hill has a long-standing relationship with Vision Senior Living, for whom the company has completed a number of projects. One recent commission was the interior design for the Forest Lake Gardens retirement village. The idea throughout was to promote Vision Senior Living’s Ageing in Place philosophy, while offering a distinctive, personalised environment.

Guided by a brief aimed at attracting younger retirees, four interior schemes were developed for Forest Lake Gardens. Each was inspired by the colours of the four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter.

The practical requirements of the inhabitants was a key factor in determining the interior fitouts. Kitchens feature plenty of drawers and low cabinetry for easily accessible storage, while the oven and a dishdrawer have been positioned for safe use. In the bathrooms, tiled floors run into the shower and up the walls, combining a modern look with an easy-clean finish with in-built future wheelchair adaptabilities.
