The desire to project a contemporary, professional image governed the interior design brief for law firm Rice Craig’s new office in Papakura. The answer, delivered within the $850,000 budget, involved the stripping out of what was your typical 1970’s commercial office building to create a modern workplace environment that makes better use of natural light.
The result is simple yet effective, and delivers Rice Craig a product that clearly projects the values & culture of the company to both their clients and wider community. The reception, once gloomy has been transformed through the use of light, colour and materials selected to create a modern and welcoming environment. The Fatu Feu’u painting hanging above reception is a reminder of the pride of those who live and work in South Auckland.
View shafts from reception lead you down toward an exposed aggregate concrete stair that takes you up to the new mezzanine floor that accommodates the practices boardroom. Offices are arrange around the perimeter of the floor in a simple loop, with meeting and common areas located centrally so as accessible to all.
This change has been great for business and staff morale, who are now proud and excited by their new working environment.
