2004 NZIA Resene Local Award Winner

When nationwide accountancy firm Staples Rodway came to refurbish its offices, the challenge was to create a light, modern environment from a tired, dated and dark interior. The answer, delivered within the $400,000 budget, involved removing walls and rearranging spaces to make better use of the available light.

The reception, in particular, was a gloomy internal space, accessed from the central lift core. Now, new glass walls in place of the old gib ones allow light to stream into the area. Stained strandboard counters, interesting use of colour and an industrial-style coffee table combine to create a modern and welcoming environment.
