Intermediate-Senior Architectural Technician

Founded in 1992, Chow:Hill is locally-owned business which has grown into a multidisciplinary design company with a portfolio of projects spanning the education, health, commercial, community, housing, civic and public realm.

The team consists of almost 70 registered architects, architectural technicians, landscape architects, urban designers, and interior designers, operating out of two studios in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau and Hamilton/Kirikiriroa and a project office in Christchurch/Otautahi.

Passionate about blending function with design to create places with meaning, we are looking for an architectural professional who shares this approach.

You’ll be joining a team that designs with purpose, a team that enjoys the challenge of creating spaces that evoke a sense of identity. You will have a seat in their newly refurbished Hamilton studio with free on-site parking and the transport center just a five-minute walk away!

In this role, you will develop positive working relationships and share your expertise across different disciplines. Part of the role will be managing client expectations through delivering quality service.

What we're
looking for

  • Provide technical support and knowledge to the design team as required.
  • Monitor and maintain technical quality in own documentation.
  • Produce documentation relevant and sensitive to the architectural design intent.
  • Maintain, enhance, and apply technical knowledge of current legislation.
  • Be alert to business opportunities and relay potential opportunities to team leader.
  • Translate the design intent into sound and compliant technical principles.

This role will suit someone with the following background, experience and qualities:

  • Relevant architectural qualification.
  • Intermediate to advanced level Revit skills.
  • Able to facilitate meetings, explain complex design drawings and convey instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and emphasis on drawing quality and documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
