Intermediate-Senior Architectural Technicians

Design, Deliver, Document… and Enjoy a Unique Team Environment

If you're looking for this, we're looking for you

The opportunity

Transform spaces, collaborate with colleagues, create unique experiences through clever design – that, in a nutshell, is the opportunity you’ll have working as an Architectural Technician here at Chow:Hill.

As an award-winning design practise, with studios in Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch, we love shaping environments, realising possibilities and encouraging our team to push their creative boundaries.

This role is based in our Auckland studio in the heart of Newmarket. You’ll be surrounded by colleagues with decades of design expertise, as well as architectural graduates eager to learn. There’s coffee, comradery and an established client base that enjoys working with Chow:Hill on sustainable design practices.

Your skills will be an invaluable addition to our studio, your experience will be recognised, and your career will take shape. Are you in?

The offer

At Chow:Hill we work across multiple design disciplines, with partners and clients in a variety of industries, and on projects in Northland, Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury and most places in between. Your role may be based in Auckland but our one studio approach means your opportunities are only limited by your creative desires.

To fuel that creativity, we’re committed to offering you a company culture that welcomes flexible working practices, is agile in its approach to delivering client outcomes, and offers support to ensure you progress both personally and professionally.

In addition to the benefits and other good stuff you can see we offer below:

  • Our salary offerings are competitive
  • Your professional development is a priority which is why we have a bespoke in-house CPD programme, providing support and learning across both the technical, design and wide ‘soft skills’ required in your career. This includes an in-house mentoring programme, cultural design training and ESD.
  • We value our people and we’ve made it one of our strategic commitments to ensure that even when life gets busy, our culture doesn’t slip. Daily conversation, regular engagement, coffee rounds, we recognise the need for, and place value on, a supportive, collaborative and fun environment in which we can work, learn and play.
  • We endorse flexible working arrangements because we know how important work/life balance is to employee wellbeing. Over the next 12-18 months, we’ll be rolling out laptops for all staff members to ensure flexible working is attainable.
  • Sustainability is ingrained in what we do, from our annual Sustainability Report to our internal sustainability committee. We don’t just talk the talk, we walk the walk when it comes to sustainable design practices. It’s our future after all.
