People and Culture Lead

If you're looking for this, we're looking for you

Connecting, collaborating and creating

Every day at Chow:Hill, our team is doing exactly that. We thrive on architectural challenges and are focused on delivering quality outcomes and experience for our clients. Mutual respect – between ourselves, consultants, clients, contractors and wider community – is fundamental; integrity likewise. We have worked hard as an organisation to foster a culture of openness, one in which fun, enjoyment and a lively sense of inter-studio rivalry complement our capacity for sheer hard work.

We’re committed to shaping the careers, opportunities and skillset of our team. With our employee wellbeing in mind, we are looking to hire a People and Culture Lead who will work across our three studios in New Zealand. The role can be based in either Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau or Hamilton/Kirikiriroa.

You'll need key specialist skills

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to progress their career in an established New Zealand design practice.

The role will be responsible for a number of key staff, studio, and HR processes, and contributing the broader People, Culture & Environment Committee to deliver high quality HR advice and services to support the business.

You will have a genuine passion for people, significant understanding of the wellbeing requirements of staff, and the experience and dedication to help create and deliver great employee experiences.

Exceptional communication skills. These are critical to the success of this role. You must also be able to demonstrate your ability to have courageous conversations across all areas of the business and the ability to listen with a neutral perspective. • A solution-focused approach to problem-solving
  • A proactive, positive approach and “can do” attitude
  • An ability to think outside the square and work effectively within a fast-paced changing environment
  • Advanced computer skills, MS Word and Excel
