Architectural graduate, Kyle Guarin, believes the shaping of experiences can be achieved as much with small design elements as it can with grand architecture.
Reviving the simple ritual of kneeling in prayer inspired architectural graduate Kyle Guarin’s thesis, Spoken Silence, and shaped his concept of a church community garden. Ideas about atmosphere now infuse his work in our Tāmaki Makaurau studio.
Designing space for the power of silent contemplation and creating environments where users can experience moments of wonder and awe fuel Kyle’s desire to apply his learnings into designs that ensure connection –with others and with oneself.
A graduate of the University of Auckland, Kyle communicates his designs through the manipulation of images and making of models. He also enjoys bringing nature into space through his work, a perspective enriched by his impressive collection of more than 200 indoor plants!
