Architectural Graduate Madhuvanthi Padmanabhan (Mads) values being in a profession that can make a positive impact on communities through sustainable architecture and people-oriented design.
Multi-lingual Mads (four languages and counting!) completed her formal architectural studies at Auckland’s Unitec Institute of Technology, having been drawn to the industry by the way in which spaces can affect and evoke memories of experiences.
With well-honed technical skills in AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp, a work ethic reflective of good organisation and time management, and an enjoyment of collaborative endeavour, Mads has been involved with design and documentation in a diverse range of architectural and urban planning projects.
A clear design philosophy informs her work: “The environment around us shapes us – our memories, our emotions, and our experiences. Our designs have the power to change them and by extension, change us. Let us design better so that we are better individuals.”
Outside of the office, Mads’ creative energy is expressed in activism, singing and songwriting and powerlifting.
