A contributor to the design of New Zealand’s social and affordable housing, Chow:Hill Senior Principal Maurice Kiely is motivated by the opportunity to shape the integration of housing and community facilities, and the enhancement of social capital.
Maurice’s formative architectural design studies, combined with his research into public and private initiatives for sustainable neighbourhoods, underpin his approach to the design and development of thriving communities.
His collective approach to design, and his belief that transformational change is attained through open, honest and trusting relationships between designers, clients, and communities, have seen him deliver on significant private and community housing projects, and community projects including Warkworth Wellsford Community Day Hospice and the Wentworth Precinct Community Centre in Papatoetoe.
Maurice’s integration of architectural, urban and landscape design considerations within the Chow:Hill team has contributed to the creation of places of unique cultural, social and natural value.
Maurice actively promotes Chow:Hill’s strategic objectives and sustainability agenda, and is responsible for producing the company’s annual sustainability report.
