Experienced Registered Architect, Michelle Johansson has a passion for sustainable architecture and designing environments that have longevity for generations to come.
From the design of residential apartments to childcare centres, hospitals to commercial premises, Michelle’s varied design background has enabled her to form a holistic view of projects and the role each plays in its environment. Her years of experience have also seen Michelle develop an extensive skill set across the technical, contractual, legislative and management aspects required during project delivery.
Michelle’s keen interest in the role architecture plays in sustainable environments was a focus in her role as lecturer and programme manager for Otago Polytechnic’s New Zealand Diploma in Building Surveying. Her commitment to delivering high quality learning to students saw Michelle share her knowledge of the regulatory environment, plan processing and New Zealand building code, in partnership with other industry experts.
A former consultant, Michelle actively contributes to architectural literature on Green Star, Home Start, Passive Housing and the Living Building Challenge.
