The prospect of making a positive difference to people's lives through clever buildings, landscapes and places led Teresa Munro down the career path of architectural design.
Teresa’s creativity and passion for beautiful and thoughtful design are reflected in her work on projects which shape enduring and sustainable communities. A graduate of the University of Auckland, she has been involved in the various stages of design throughout her career, from early concept work to detailed design and documentation as well as site observation during the construction phase.
Teresa enjoys taking the time to understand each client’s requirements to ensure that these can be integrated into a design that enhances the lives and experiences of those who will use the completed spaces. Her understanding of different design methodologies has resulted in Teresa’s collaboration on a wide range of healthcare and socially-oriented projects, including Kia Ū Ōra - North Shore Hospital Diagnostic Breast Services, a care facility for people living with dementia in Auckland, and Kāinga Ora Northcote Apartments.
Teresa’s commitment to her profession is also shown through her work as Treasurer of Architecture + Women.New Zealand, the not-for-profit organisation which supports women trained in the field of architecture.
