Whether it’s opening our studio doors during Aotearoa Festival of Architecture Week or championing women entrepreneurs pitching theirbusiness ideas as part of Soda Inc’s Rise Up seed grant and pre-accelerator programme, at Chow:Hill we enjoy the opportunity of connecting and collaborating with industry groups, inside and outside of New Zealand’s design sector.

These past few weeks have seen our health design team converse with industry peers at Tuhono Connect, the biennial conference of the New Zealand Health Design Council, our Christchurch Studio exhibit at Archipro’s Meet – Greet & Eat design evening, and our team enjoy seminars and events during Aotearoa Festival of Architecture Week.

Senior Principal Jane Hill has also spent time as a judge for the Waikato Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, judging the Community Contribution Award for 2023. This category recognises organisations with ongoing work or specific project(s) that have resulted in outcomes to the community that are visionary and high impact.

Judging the Waikato Business Awards is a real privilege; having the opportunity to meet with the range of impressive business we have here in the Waikato is a very inspiring process to be part of ~ Jane Hill

Chow:Hill is a sponsor of the Marketing Category in the Waikato Business Awards.

Jaune-Marie Van Der Merwe, Associate and Registered Architect in Chow:Hill’s Otautahi studio, said recent events have been a great opportunity for the Christchurch team to collaborate and connect with the South Island design community.

“We had a successful Open Studio event as part of Aotearoa Festival of Architecture Week, with guests enjoying an insight into the range of projects our team are involved in. Giving them an opportunity to experience our designs using VR and displaying 3D printed models added an extra dimension to conversations.”

The end of the year is shaping up to be just as exciting as our team participates in NAWIC events, Property Council Tours, and the Waikato Chamber of Commerce Business  Awards Gala Dinner.
