Chow:Hill Principal, Sam Thomas’ strategic approach to concept design, combined with his extensive experience in animation and VR (virtual reality), enables him to add value to design communication and stakeholder engagement.
Sam’s local and international experience on large-scale projects across tertiary education and public, commercial and health sectors, has cemented his strong project delivery skills. These attributes, combined with his significant design talent and leadership, see Sam work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders on concept design through to development, documentation and on-site delivery.
Sam has developed specific expertise in the field of tertiary design and student living trends, completing projects such as the refurbishment of the University of Waikato’s Management School and Massey University’s Walter Dyer Hall student accommodation.
He enjoys the challenge of blurring boundaries between design and function and believes the most effective design has a user-centric approach. For Sam, success is the delivery of quality-designed spaces that people want to live, work and learn in.
