Architectural Graduate, Damien Ramtano, brings a commitment to sustainability to his work as he seeks innovative ways to connect communities through collaborative design.
A love for the art of model-making and being immersed in DIY projects were two powerful influences steering Damien towards a career in architecture. His problem-solving skills and creative flair also helped – as has his ability to read and speak three languages!
Damien completed his master’s degree at Unitec in 2019,undertaking major research project in the re-activation of redundant industrial spaces, with an architectural approach that also renews a building’s significance and uses in its community. A topic which reflects his commitment to designing environmentally conscious buildings and the importance of connected communities.
In his role as an Architectural Graduate in Chow:Hill’s Hamilton/Kirikiriroa studio, Damien enjoys the precision involved in 3Dmodelling, the challenge of preparing conceptual drawings and site plans for clients and, above all, being involved in defining Hamilton’s changing cityscape.
