This inspiring adaptive re-use project involves the significant refurbishment of existing commercial premises, previously owned by Auckland Council (Panuku) and purchased by Laidlaw College Foundation in 2020, marking the start of a collaborative relationship between two local organisations committed to the growth and rejuvenation of Henderson.
A new campus for Laidlaw College will transform three floors of the existing building, with new commercial base build tenancy spaces to be developed across the remaining levels.
Founded on the core design principles of Connection, Formation, and Renewal, the new campus carefully balances the provision of welcome hospitality, learning, teaching and research, and sacred spaces for Laidlaw‘s Christian learning community.
The new College and Commercial base build tenancies reflect the first stage of a long-term vision for site development, building on Laidlaw College’s presence in Henderson for the past 64 years at Lincoln Road and its continuing contribution to the area.
Working in partnership with BUILT, The Building Intelligence Group, RLB, AGILE Building Services, EQ Struc Structural & Seismic Engineers and Babbage Fire Engineers, Chow:Hill’s Tertiary Design Team anticipate completion of this exciting transformational project later this year.
